We are a social enterprise in Manila that supports the creation and sales of unique bags with beautiful, handwoven textiles from the Philippines, made by ambitious mothers in Manila fighting for a better life. We work together with NGO livelihood programs in the Philippines, and train mothers to become bagmakers so they can earn an income and send their kids to school. By purchasing our products you support their programs, the women involved and their families. We believe we can support each other in realizing our dreams. Empowered women, empower women.Read more
Handmade for you
Living in the Philippines with its beautiful beaches we understand what a good beach bag needs! By combining beautiful, locally handwoven textiles with a water repellent inside, these bags are designed for sustainable use.
We use local, handwoven textiles with traditional, century old patterns, which often have fascinating stories. Some were even used in the 17th century by Spanish galleons, proving their durability.
Our bagmakers are highly skilled craftswomen.
We train mothers to become bagmakers and help them with the design and sales of their products, so they have an income and can send their kids to school. Of your purchase, all proceeds after material, logistics, tax and overhead costs will go to the mothers in the form of salary and foundation support.
Having been in Tondo / Smokey Mountain and in the weaving dens of llocos I can confirm this is what the people need. The honest jobs this initiative creates have direct positive impact on many lives.
Each bag is crafted with care and commitment to high quality and craftsmanship. The mothers pay special attention to ensure that the final product is durable, well-made and beautiful.
For Dot a collaboration with Not a Daydream is a great win-win in social, sustainable and start up businesses between NL and PH - our contribution to women empowerment.
Everything we do has impact! Buying the bags of Not a Daydream will help the people who need it most, more than you think. It is a dream to give the mothers in Tondo the opportunity to flourish.
